Claire with the Snow White statue!
A gorilla for everyone!
Tommy and Claire loved to feed the ducks, especially Tommy. He asked to "go feed quack quacks" everyday and even when we got home!
The zoo is free and has some really great animals. We saw a black bear, cougar, peacocks, deer, parrots, and lots of different monkeys to name just a few. Tommy really loved these monkeys swinging around and putting on a show. The parrots were so funny and would say hello and goodbye to us.
Near the zoo is an amazing little train and carousel. The train is only 25 cents a ride the carousel is only 5 cents a ride. The train goes twice around the track and it ends up being a pretty long ride. We went to ride the train and carousel most evenings! Even grandpa and grandma joined us! The kids just loved it and we loved we could go so many times without breaking the bank.
Jacob with the kids on the carousel. Good thing he doesn't get motion sickness because they rode A LOT! They also have a putt-putt course there too for only $1 for 18 holes. Jacob and I played a game when grandpa and grandma watched the kids for us when we went on our first overnight date since Claire was born. The date was to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary! The kids did great with grandpa and grandma and we couldn't thank them enough!
Jacob wanted to "help out" by mowing the lawn. I think he was so excited to ride the lawn mower! Jacob took both the kids for turns and Tommy loved it of course!
While we were in Kansas we drove to see Jacob's grandma and the kids great-grandma. It was a great visit and we got to see many of Jacob's Aunts and Uncles too.
We stuffed our family on the couch! We finally got a group shot!
We love visiting Kansas and we hope to go back often! I especially look forward to more of those Cajan Pies from Daylight Doughnuts!
