39 Weeks-Baby #3

Welp, here is my baby belly at 39 weeks!  I feel like I have been pregnant forever.  But in a good way.  This pregnancy has been very good overall.  I was only a little sick in the beginning, just nauseous often, but I only threw up twice I think.  I have had a good amount of energy and been able to move around and do what I need to for the kids and our family.  My back, that sciatic nerve spot, and my fire-ball spot below my left rib didn't hurt me very often so I am grateful (they were terrible with Tommy).  I am so glad that this pregnancy has been overall easy and I have only really slowed down these last 2 weeks.  And, only this last week have my hands and feet started to swell.  Saturday, two days from now is baby day.  I am really excited to be able to just schedule a c-section and have everything planned out for the new baby and plans set for Claire and Tommy.  I hope to be way less tired and emotional!

Jacob and I are nervous about adding another baby to the family.  We know how much it changes the family dynamics and newborns are just a lot of work!  But, we know this little one is meant to be here at this time and we are so excited to finally meet him and see his cute little face.  The kids understand the new baby is coming on Saturday and I think they are excited and ready.  We had a family home evening this week talking about the care a new baby requires and how it will change some things in our family for a while.  I think the kids understood as much as they are able and are excited to be big helpers!

At 37 weeks I had a growth scan and the baby was estimated to be around 7lbs2oz already.  Eeek!  Claire and Tommy were both born at 6lbs14oz, so I'm not used to big babies.  This baby could be quite big by Saturday.  I blame it all on being pregnant during the holiday food yummy-ness!  At least I don't have to worry about pushing a big baby out! :)  Unfortunately I finally have stretch marks on my tummy, I never had them with Claire or Tommy.  So I guess this baby is stretching me to the max!  There is definitely no more room left in my belly.  The baby seems perfectly healthy during all the appointments and I sure feel him moving and kicking around.  He is so strong, sometimes it actually hurts when he kicks out.

I have had a name decided on for quite a while, but Jacob was hesitant.  I told him that the name I like was what the new baby's name would be unless he came up with something better!  Jacob still hasn't come up with anything else and is coming around to the name I think.  Jacob only has 2 days left to come up with something different, since we don't have any plan B names.  I think I will be getting my way, ha! :)  This name has actually really felt "right" to me for a long while so I am confident and excited about it.

Our family is ready for you baby boy and we love you so much already!

  1. I was just thinking how any day now should be baby day! We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. How exciting!!! Everyone says scheduling a c-section versus labor then c-section leaves you with so much more energy (I wouldn't know) but I'll hope that's true for your sake!
