36 Weeks!

Wow!  I am 36 weeks along in my pregnancy.  Cannot believe that these months have gone by so fast.  The weather outside is feeling like fall and I kept thinking my baby would come when fall arrived and here it is.  I went to the doctor today and my doctor is awesome.  He just tells me how wonderful I am doing and that everything looks great every time I go.  I'm sure he does that with all his patients, but it still makes me feel special. :)  I am excited to report that I have only gained 16 pounds, woot, woot!  Not that I am trying to not gain weight, but I am happy to not gain any more weight than what is needed.  Here is a picture of me at 36 weeks.  I am headed to my baby shower, which was absolutely amazing!  I'll do a post once I get some pictures from it.

36 Weeks

Here are some things I am excited about when the little one arrives:

  • to meet the little one and see what his cute face looks like
  • for Claire to meet her new little brother.  We have talked about it for so long...I wonder if the anticipation is getting to her as well.
  • to sleep on my stomach once again
  • to not have a him kick my pelvic bones, I super hate the feeling.  For me it's like listening to nails on a chalkboard when he kicks my pelvic bones.
  • my Mom to come visit and help out with the new one!!
Here are some things I am nervous about:
  • having a vaginal delivery.  I really hope it works out this time so that the recovery period isn't as long and awful as with Claire.
  • handling two kids and remaining sane, enough said.  :)
  • sickness, I'm worried about him being born in a winter month near Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  I want to be able to take him out and do all the parties and celebrating, but I worry about him getting sick.  Is it worth it?  Probably not, but can I handle staying home?  We shall see.
  • cloudy, snowy Ohio.  I hate how cloudy the winters are here and I hope I can remain happy with all the emotions a newborn brings and with the cloudy weather.  Plus, I am sad we won't be able to run around outside with Claire as much.  I'm going to have to find another way for her to expend her energy.
Well, the little one will come soon and it will all work out fine I'm sure.  It always does.  We are so happy to have this little guy join our family!

  1. I think you'll be ok taking him out. RSV season isn't till like december to april. As long as you don't overdo it you should be fine. Can't wait to see your new little guy!

  2. You are getting very close to being done and having your little guy here. How exciting, although sometimes that last month is the hardest. Good luck.
I definitely had a lot of anxiety with the second one. I think with the first one you don't know exactly what to expect so there is not as much worry but for sure with the second one I had a lot of anxiety about getting him here. And everything turned out wonderful. It is truly amazing how your body knows just what to do so there is no need to worry about that. Also your body heals a lot quicker the second time which is so awesome. I hope everything goes well this last month.
p.s. I always worry about little newborn babies but I can't stand being cooped up in my house for so long with Brynley so I found that if I did go somewhere I always put Noah in a baby sling. I felt so much better with him tucked away in a sling. Somehow I felt like this protected him a little more. Do you have a sling?
