Memorial Day Zoo Fun

For our fun day off for Memorial Day we went to the Cleveland Zoo.  We had a super fun time even though it was really hot and humid out.  We were so sweaty and tired by the end, but I'm glad we had some family fun together.  After the zoo and naps for the kids we went swimming at our apartment's pool.  It was a great day!

Tommy's first zoo experience!  He didn't have a clue what was going on, but he enjoyed being pushed in the stroller and was a super happy baby the whole time.

We got to feed a giraffe!  We happened to be in the right place at the right time and they let us all take a turn feeding the giraffe lettuce.  Look at Claire's face, she loved it!

We are in the butterfly building...but there were no butterflies.  None whatsoever.  Claire wanted to take a few pictures by the pond in there so we did.

You can tell Claire and Tommy get all their goofiness from Jacob! :)

Looking at a really cool otter swimming.  Didn't get a good picture of the otter.

We told Claire we were going to see wolves and she was SO excited to go see the big bad wolf (she came up with that part on her own!).  She has loved reading the Three Little Pigs and I found a Disney cartoon version made decades ago for her to watch from the library.  Claire loves both the book and show and can't stop talking about the big bad wolf.  All the real wolves were sleeping, but we found a few for her to sit on and take pictures.  Much better than seeing the real thing to her.

Me giving Tommy water from a straw while Claire played on the wolves.  Tommy hates his sippy cup.  Any suggestions out there?

Daddy and Claire with the camels.

And...our adorable baby taking a power nap!

We had such a fun time at the zoo and we were grateful to spend the holiday together as a family.  I also thought a lot about the veterans and those men and women who gave their lives so we can enjoy our freedom.  I am so grateful to all those who serve for our country!
