Making Valentine's Day Special

I was a little obsessed with making Valentine's Day special for my kids this year so that they would remember it and have fun.  I need to remember they are only 3 years and 1 year old so they probably won't remember much anyway.  :)  I started off the morning with making pink milk to have with Claire's cereal.  She wasn't a fan until I assured her it tasted just the same as regular milk.

I have started watching two girls on Tuesday and Thursday's each week and so the girls came on Valentine's Day.  Claire and Tommy love playing with these girls and they are very nice/good girls to have around.  The Tuesday before Valentine's Day I had all the kids make these paper plates with their hand prints.  All the girls thought this was fun, but Tommy just wanted to get the paint off his hands.  The girls also made the monkey and owl clothespin activity!

On Valentine's Day the girls all made bracelets (which they are holding up) and then they colored Valentine place-mats for lunch.  I was going to make pb&j sandwiches cut out in the shape of a heart, but Jacob surprised me and brought home pizza for everyone!  The girls all loved their pink milk though.

I made little valentine hearts for everybody and wrapped up a few little presents for Claire and Tommy.  Claire loved her candy necklace and valentine memory cards and Tommy loved his new (actually an old car of Jacob's, but new to Tommy) car!

I made pink german pancakes for dinner, though you can't really tell from the picture that they are pink.  I should have taken a picture with the rest of the food on the table, trust me, they eat lots more!

Daddy is finally home from work so he opened the kid's fun valentines from Grandpa and Grandma F. and Aunt Sarah and Uncle David.  They loved opening everything!

The Friday after Valentine's Day I put together a Valentine's Party for our playgroup.  We had 16 kids show up to do a valentine craft, valentine exchange, a game of pin the heart on the frog, and yummy snacks of course.  The kids had a blast giving out their valentines and running around the gym like crazy.
