21 Weeks - Baby #2

I am halfway done cooking baby #2!  Yay!  I went to the doctor today for the "big" ultrasound and we got some cute profile pics (see below).  It was so fun to watch the baby move around and kick while the tech was trying to look at and measure the baby.  I wasn't surprised at the movement at all as this baby moves around all the time.  Wonder if it is a boy thing or just baby #2 thing? :)  The baby checked out great; measured between 20-21 weeks and is in breech position.  The placenta and amniotic fluid looked fine and the doctor said he couldn't be happier with the way the pregnancy was progressing.  I also haven't gained any weight...sweet!  I eat normally, but probably have too many treats at night, but I guess it is working out for me.

So, the baby has been confirmed to be a boy...very obvious from the ultrasound and pictures...crazy.  Again, I just can't believe we are going to have a boy...I keep being shocked at the thought of having a boy, even though I felt it was going to be a boy around 15 weeks gestation.  Before that I was hoping for a girl because we know what to do with girls and I have sooo many clothes and girl things.  But, a little before 15 weeks I started to think that there really was a 50/50 chance we could have a boy so I decided I needed to be okay with that.  After thinking about it for a while, I just had the realization that it was a boy and sure enough, at the 17 week appointment, it proved to be true!  Still trying to wrap my head around it I guess, though I am super excited.

The only issues I am having is that I developed a rash on my neck, it's just a little red and it itches.  It could be pregnancy related, but the doctor didn't seem too concerned about it.  The rash has actually been the best it has been today, so I am hoping it just goes away (fingers crossed).  I also have experienced numbness in my hands and arms and sometimes in my right toes, but it hasn't been lately so hopefully that will not be a problem later.  I am just so glad everything seems to be going great with the baby and I hope he comes out as healthy and perfect as Claire did.  I am also so grateful to my parents who were healthy with their bodies so that I could be born as a healthy girl and that they raised me with healthy food and ideals so that I could have good health and produce healthy children as well.  I feel very grateful for a good working body at this time!
