Claire is getting adjusted to the new norm with baby brother pretty well now. She is much less needy and emotional now and loves to try and help do things for Tommy. I need to think of more things she can help with. Claire talks all the time and can tell me just about anything she wants. She still loves to watch Signing Time, but rarely does any signs unless I ask her specifically to sign something. I love when she gets very emphatic about telling me something and nods her head while she is talking. She is loving room time and so do I! I can nap, clean, or take care of Tommy. One of the cute things she said lately is "Mommy pumps and mommy calls Aunt Beth." Yep, that is my life, pumping and talking to my sister on the phone. :) She loves to pretend to call all sorts of people of the phone too...puppy, Liam, Aunt Beth, Aunt Sarah, and grandma. Claire LOVES to look at herself in the mirror and try on bows and clothes and to brush her hair. She still loves to pull out all her clothes and have us fold them and put them back. She is such a girl and loves the color pink...she asks to use a pink plate/bowl at every meal. Too bad we only have one pink one of each. :) Claire also loves to take and look at pictures. If we are at the computer she always wants to sit on our lap and look at pictures and videos that we have taken of her and the family. We weighed Claire on the Wii last week and it said she weighs 24 pounds...that is still not that much, but she feels like a giant to me compared to Tommy.
Super cute Claire on her favorite scooter toy. Love this Sunday dress! Thanks again Emily for the headband!
Tommy is now 5 weeks. I cannot believe that it is already been 5 weeks with our little guy, but then it feels like it is such a short amount of time when I change perspective and see how little he is still. Tommy is such a sweet boy...I really can tell already that he has a very sweet and kind personality. He is a wonderful napper (knock on wood). He takes his first 3 naps with very little or no crying when I put him in his crib. (Have I ever mentioned how much I love Babywise?!) His 4th nap usually isn't very good and he sometimes has difficulty falling asleep for nighttime, but can do it with a little bit of soothing. He is sleeping at least 5 hours a night, sometimes more. We are working to have him sleep from 11pm-7am without a feeding and he has done it once already! Every night around 4:30 he starts grunting and grunts the whole rest of the night. I often hear him passing gas, but he is still asleep. So it is very hard for me to tell if he is hungry or is just passing gas. The worst thing is I cannot sleep through it even though Tommy is just grunting...no crying or anything. It drives me crazy! We even have his crib out in the living room, the door mostly closed, and the fan on in the bedroom. Somehow Jacob has no problem ignoring it...lucky! I really hope we can figure out a solution soon or that he grows out of it. Tommy is also already gaining a lot of head control as you can see in the picture below and he is tracking our movement with his eyes. We still haven't gone to church yet, people probably think we are crazy, but I really don't want people breathing all over him with it being cold and flu season already. I guess we will have to go for his baby blessing in a few weeks though. :) I love my little boy!
4 Weeks Stats: 10lbs, 8oz(60th percentile)
21 inches(40th),
38cm head circumference (80th)-so big to hold all the brains he has :)
