A few weekend ago the Relief Society at my church planned a trip to go to Palmyra and attend the temple and visit a few of the Church Historic Sites. I never really thought about going since I have little ones at home (Palmyra is about 5 hrs away and would be an overnight trip), but Jacob randomly asked me one night if I had thought about going. I said I didn't really think it was a possibility, but he told me to go ahead and go if I wanted. I decided I thought it would be great to attend the temple and to have a little break from being a mom. I convinced my good friend Rachel to go as well and I am so glad we did! We left on Friday afternoon and drove with the other Relief Society sisters to Palmyra. We attended the temple that night and then Rachel and I stayed together in an adorable little inn. I LOVED attending the temple and felt such peace and comfort there that I never feel anywhere else. I also had such a good time visiting with Rachel at our inn and it felt like a fun girl's night out! The next day we visited the sacred grove and the LDS bookstore in town.
Me at the sacred grove. It was cold in the woods!
Rachel and I at the sacred grove.
Pretty picture of the trees.
Me outside the Palmyra Temple.
I thought this was a pretty good picture of the temple I took.
There is stained glass all over the temple which I thought was beautiful. Not sure if you can tell, but this stained glass depicts the sacred grove. Inside the temple there was one that depicted the first vision and it was so beautiful. I loved all the furniture and architecture inside the temple, it was all 1800's esq. Of course the best part is the spirit and comfort that being inside the temple brings.
I am so glad Jacob made it possible for me to go on this trip and it was so nice to have a little break from the kids. I need to do things like this more often! :) If you have any questions about my faith, check out this website:

It was so fun! I am glad we went. I am so lucky to have a friend like you to share such fun/special times with :)
