Squire's Castle

Last week our weekly playgroup went to a cool place called Squire's Castle.  It is actually a gatehouse built in the 1890's by a wealthy oil executive who planned on building a large estate like those in Britain.  He never finished building the rest of the castle estate, but the remains of this house are pretty fun to see.  I love how this area has so much history and uniqueness.

I told Claire we were going to see a castle and she was SO excited.  I think she was imagining pink and princesses, but she still loved seeing what the castle was and had fun running around with her friends.  We also went on a small walking trail behind the castle where the kids had fun exploring the forest.

We will be going back with Jacob sometime soon!
