Tommy 9-10months

Tommy, Tommy, Tommy!  Where do I start?  This kid is intense!  Most of the time he is super happy and nice, but he has a little temper already.  It has been very interesting to see his personality develop as he has gotten older.  We sure love this boy and here is a recap of him age 9 to 10 months.  The pictures start at 9 months and then go to today, him currently being almost 11 months old.  I keep being shocked that he is almost a year old...where did the time go?

Tommy now has 8 teeth and his 1 year molars are on their way in (a little early, lucky us)...  Tommy has had a really hard time with teething.  Each tooth has come in one by one, the matching ones usually a few days to a week apart.  So I feel like he has been teething almost constantly since he was 6 months old, which is pretty much the truth.  We will have had a week or so break and then the next ones are on their way.  Teething makes Tommy super cranky and he does not sleep well for naps or night.  He is a wonderful boy when not in pain so I really look forward to those times.

Tommy's 2nd haircut at 9 months.  He was a champ and didn't mind the whole process.

What a sweetie?!  I need to remember to do the top longer for better fo-hawking... :)

Tommy has been on the go since about 7 months old.  He is a super fast crawler and people keep saying he will walk soon, but I'm not sure since he doesn't need to.  He is so fast that he doesn't even think about walking to get where he wants.  But he has loved to push toys that he can stand with lately so maybe he will be walking soon.  Tommy is officially a stair climber this last week.  I have really practiced with him to turn around so he can go down the stairs safely.  He is getting the idea.

This is the funniest picture.  I gave Tommy a nap right after a bath so his hair was all crazy after sleeping!  I just thought it was too funny, but not necessarily the best look for him. :)

During the time we were renovating our new house I continued to pump breast milk for Tommy, but it was a really stressful and tiring time and I noticed my breast milk was changing.  I wasn't pumping near as much and the fat layer on the milk was the smallest skim on top and the milk turned a tint green.  So the day we moved I didn't pump enough milk for a feeding and I didn't have much other breast milk on hand so I mixed the breast milk with formula.  Let me tell you...Tommy LOVED it.  He seriously gulped it down.  So I decided that 9 months of pumping was enough and so now Tommy takes formula happily.  It is so much easier and I feel much more free now that I am done pumping.  I am glad I pumped for so long because I do think breast milk is best and it is much cheaper, but I am so glad to be done.  Especially before our trip to Montana, it would have been near impossible to keep up with the pumping while we were busy on vacation.

Tommy at the zoo this weekend, he was super chill and happy!  He enjoyed looking at the fish.

Look at that adorable face!

Tommy and Claire have been playing together more and more.  Tommy loves to chase Claire and hold on to the zebra toy while Claire rides on it.  They love to laugh at each other and except for Tommy pulling Claire's hair and Claire taking toys from Tommy, they get a long really well. :)  It is fun to see them entertain and enjoy each other.

Some of Tommy's favorite "toys".  He loves playing with the paint roller and getting into my pots and pans cupboard.

Tommy is very curious and really getting into everything.  I mean everything!  No cupboard or drawer is safe from him and it really is getting to be a challenge keeping up with the messes he makes.  I keep bugging Jacob to put the child locks on...maybe I'll just have to go buy some different ones I can put on myself. :)  Tommy also loves to put anything and everything in his mouth.  He didn't start this phase for a long time, but now that it is here I have to constantly watch the ground and him to see what he is up to.  He will find the tiniest carpet fuzz and in the mouth it goes.  Tommy is getting really good at putting food in his mouth too, so I make sure he has something to pick up and put in his mouth at every meal in hopes that will help satiate his desire to put things in his mouth.

As I mentioned before, Tommy has quite a temper.  When he doesn't get what he wants or is being put somewhere he doesn't want to be, he will throw his head back, arch his back, and scream.  I am really trying to work on letting him know that behavior is not okay and making him calm down before he gets what he wants.  I do see improvement, but I have a feeling it is going to be a behavior trait we will constantly work on.  I know that doing sign language will really help him express what he wants.  Tommy can sign "all done" really well and we are working on "please".

This boy is a delight and we are so glad he is part of our family!
