So, remember how I said turning 1 must be magical?! I really think it is because Claire has decided she can do all sorts of things now that she is 1 year old. Seriously, just this last week she decided she could do sign language back to me. I have been trying since Claire was about 6 months old to teach her sign language. And randomly she did "all done" and "more" back to me. I was so excited and relieved because I was starting to worry she wasn't going to get it. Claire will also go find her ball, puppy dog, and froggie if we tell her to; it is so cute to watch her search everywhere for what item we tell her to. I was also amazed when I told Claire to go read her stories and she promptly went to the corner of the room where her books are, sat down and started to read her books. Claire can say ball very well and she is working on puppy dog, kitty, and car. Claire is starting to really imitate many of the things we do, like trying to brush her hair and opening and closing her eyes (like blinking on purpose). Now I know she understands most of what we say to her and can understand when I say "that's a no", but I realize understanding and following directions are not the same thing. :) We are working on Claire listening to the "that's a no" thing! I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up...it is really exciting and sad all at the same time!

OH MY GOSH, KRISTEN!!! She has grown up so much since we left. She is a little walker and talker. She is adorable! I wish so bad her and Coulson could run around together. I showed Coulson the video and he got so excited. It was so cute! Thanks so much for the shout out too! The party looked so fun! We miss you guys so much.
ReplyDeleteClaire is so beautiful! I really enjoyed looking at all the pictures and video of her! They just grow up so fast! I know I used to worry about whether I was doing everything right, when it came to my kids, but I think we do what we know and then we just pray every night that God will take care of the rest. I think you guys are doing a great job raising her, cause she seems very happy and content, and why shouldn't she be, with two very loving parents. God Bless You All and thank you for sharing these special moments in your life.
