On the way to Kansas!
The trip took us about 15hrs. We left around 1pm and drove straight through, stopping twice. The kids did great and fell asleep at nighttime, which was perfect. I love little Linky-pie's face in the mirror (thanks Emily and Kent for accidentally leaving the mirror at our house!). We got to Jacob's house around 4am so the kids had been sleeping a long time when we arrived. Lincoln stayed asleep, but Tommy and Claire had a difficult time going back to sleep between getting a good amount of sleep and being so excited to see grandma and grandpa. It didn't help that grandma and grandpa showed them their new toys, ha! On the way back to Ohio we left around 9am and got back 1am. That was much better as all the kids went right to sleep in their beds as soon as we got home.
This train is so fun! Only $.25 to ride and we went back often.
Tommy loved shouting ALL ABOARD with the conductor. By the end of the trip, Claire said the train was boring because all you do is sit there and she wanted to go to the carousel - funny kid!
Happy 5th Birthday to Claire! Claire thought it was so fun to be a grandma and grandpa's house again for her birthday. She looked forward to going to the store with them and pick out a present! Grandma bought Claire a beautiful cake and Claire blew those candles out.
Claire opening presents! She has been loving My Little Pony and requested a MLP party at home so Jacob and I got her a pony castle. She loved it! We decorated the house with MLP too.

We had so much fun visiting grandma and grandpa! Claire and Tommy just love playing with them and we were grateful for all their kindness and yummy food. Tommy kept saying after we got home, "I really miss grandpa" and kept asking to go back to Kansas. Actually both Claire and Tommy have been asking to go back. Hopefully soon!
