Here are her stats:
Weight: 20lbs, 6oz
Height: 30 1/4 inches
Head Circumference: 46 1/2 cm
You may notice that Claire has not gained much weight since her 12 month appointment. She is only in the 15th percentile, so the doctor was a little worried and said we will have to watch that. I was surprised because Claire has always been right on track and she seems to eat a lot to me. I guess I'll have to start feeding her dessert...jk!
A few fun facts about Claire at 15 months:
- Her newest signs are water, bird, and thank you. She kind of does banana and story some of the time.
- Claire now says shoes, bow, please, cheese, and this (sounds like "dis") and that (sounds like "dat") while pointing to something. She makes the animal noises to puppy dog, cat, horse, monkey, and sheep.
- Claire loves to "help" me around the house by pushing the laundry basket while I pull it, handing me clothes to put in the washer (loves to empty the basket as well, but that isn't really helping =) ), and wiping her tray. I always tie up her stinky diapers in a grocery sack and she LOVES to carry the sack to the door. She is very good at helping to put her books back in the container and her blocks back in the bucket when we ask her to. I can tell Claire really wants to help out and feel important for doing a job.
- She has been sleeping a lot more lately, 11-12 hours every night. I love it! The only real issue I am having is figuring out what to do with her naps. I think she is getting close to only having one nap a day because some days she will take two naps great and others she will whine and cry for most of the second nap. I have taken her out twice before lunch (so skipping her 1st nap) and she freaked out...screamed and cried for everyone to hear...so that makes me think she is not ready to drop that 1st nap. What to do?...What to do?...
- Lately, Claire has been chewing on everything, drooling like a dog, hitting her head with her hand, and biting her arm...so I think she is finally teething her 1 year molars. It seems to take forever for those teeth to pop through her gums, hopefully they will soon.
- Claire loves to climb on anything she can get her knees to reach. She is getting smarter and moving boxes, containers, or laundry baskets around so that she can climb on one thing to climb onto the next thing. I see a new phase of baby proofing coming my way.
