Traveling for Christmas

Jacob and I made last minute plans to travel to my Aunt Annette and Uncle Bill's home in Leesburg, VA.  They realized by talking with my mom that we lived fairly close and were going to be around for Christmas, so they invited us over.  We were so glad they did; it was wonderful to see them and to visit with other family that I hadn't seen for many years.  I'm going to do quite a few posts about Christmas because I want to remember it all!  So read them if you would like.

Jacob and I at the beginning of our journey.  It should take 6-7 hours to get to their home.  It took us closer to 8 hours due to stopping for almost an hour for lunch so Claire could run around.  She did fairly well on the ride there; she took two naps and only screamed for 20 mins or so.  The ride went much better once Jacob went in back and entertained her for a while.

The snowy cold as we were leaving Ohio.

We left the snow behind us in Ohio, we were glad it didn't follow us to Virginia and that we had great roads both to and from.

We have arrived!  Claire eating in the high chair.  My Aunt Annette and Uncle Bill were so thoughtful in making our stay as comfortable and easy as possible.  They served yummy, baby friendly foods and really took care of us.  Claire even got her own bedroom and crib to sleep in, she did really well sleeping away from home!

Claire striking a pose I guess...she was so funny throughout the trip.  Always trying to show off her belly button.  Jacob taught her that one. :)

Claire LOVED this dancing and singing snow man.  She asked for it to be played over and over again.  I actually had to hide it one morning because it was just too early to hear a dancing and singing snowman.  Here is a video of Claire enjoying it.
