Cousin Evie's 1st Birthday and Family Fun!

Later in the week after Jacob arrived, we went to Logan, UT to visit Jacob's sister Emily and her family.  It just so happened that it was their daughter, Evie's 1st Birthday!  Jacob's mom and sister, Sarah also flew in from Kansas for the 1st Birthday so it was great and lucky to see everyone at the same time.  We had such a fun time visiting with family, playing 4-deck, and watching Claire and Evie have a blast together.  Check out the pictures of our fun time!

Evie opening presents with Claire's help.  Evie wasn't too interested in the presents and Claire only lasted a few minutes.  Evie's daddy Kent had to do most of the work, lucky him!  Emily decorated the party so adorably, wish I would have gotten some pictures.  She did balloons tied together and tissue paper flowers, just might have to steal the ideas for Claire's 2nd birthday. :)

 Emily introduced glitter toes to Sarah, their mom Debbie, and me!  We all had them done and aren't they adorable?  Mine are still looking great 2.5 weeks later, mine are the pink ones.

The day after Evie's birthday we went to a fun park called Ryan's park for a picnic and then went to walk around the canyon.  Here is some of the family feeding the ducks at the canyon.  Some of the larger ducks got a little too close for comfort, but we survived.  I was about ready to jump up and run. :)  

Claire loved trying to throw the bread in the water, but she needs to work on distance. :)

Claire loved Emily's sweet kitty Cloud, though Cloud did not always love Claire back.  Claire learned to associate cats with the word bite...  The kitty just nipped her a bit to defend itself, no harm done.  It was actually good because Claire learned to be more careful and soft.

 On the Friday before the 4th, Kent showed Claire and Evie  sparklers.  Claire thought they were pretty cool for about 5 minutes and then lost interest.  She liked waving it around, but I had to keep a hold of her arm because she kept trying to grab the top with her other hand...not a good idea.  I bet she will love them next year!  That night, the local college put on a really good firework show and we could see the fireworks perfectly from Kent and Emily's backyard.  We loved watching them and were happy that both babies slept right though all the noise.

We had such a fun time at Kent and Emily's and hopefully we can go back to visit soon.  And luckily we may have them out to visit our way soon!
